absolute life saver!

absolute life saver!
Apple is definitely moving towards the future by outfitting their macbook pro's with only USB-C ports. Unfortunately, we are living in the present where we are still using USB 3.0 ports therefore making our lives that much harder when those kinds of cables are rendered useless with this kind of computer. We needed a hub that was capable of giving us plenty of extra usb ports while also being able to plug our ethernet cable directly into the computer giving us super high connection speeds. This hub was the answer to all of our wishes! We've not been using this hub for a few weeks and we are loving life! Don't fall for the smaller cheap adapters that are sold elsewhere, this is the hub for you!

I love this thing! I can finally get my pictures off my camera. I know it sounds simple and there were a lot of other ways I could have gotten the pics off the camera, but I hadn't gotten around to it (and I've had my new camera for over a year!). Obviously, this little thing can do a lot more than just that. It is the perfect all-in-one adapter I've been looking for. It has 3 USB ports, a USB-c charging port, a micro SD and regular sized SD port, HDMI out, and an Ethernet adapter. Everyone is removing inputs/outputs from their devices these days. You need a device like this to be able to link things together. You can't do everything wirelessly, so this is the perfect device to solve your problems. It seems very well built and is small enough to fit in my bag along with my laptop. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I have tried about 5 different docks/hubs now and so far this one is working the best with 2018 MBP 13" with touchbar. I have a 2560x1440 display working at 60hz working via the HDMI, Ethernet is working at gigabit speed, sound works (and thankfully not too bad of a pop/thump when connecting/disconnecting) I haven't tested the SD but would assume that works, USB also working as expected. The only issue I am having is the power pass-through. When I connect the 61w power adapter that came with my MacBook Pro, the hub only passes 52 watts despite the product advertising it supports up to 60 watts. I'm not sure why this is happening (if the seller could chime in that would be great.) The only other concern I have is that there is now another version of this item which looks exactly the same but says [Upgraded] but I can't seem to find what the difference is. (If anyone knows the difference please comment. Thanks). Be ware there is NO support for this item, if you have an issue with it, good luck trying to reach the company to submit a support request!

All of my colleagues have as many as 4 connectors they need to put into their Asus in office. Just with the help of this hub, I just need to connect one. For me it is a hub for Ethernet, HDMI, a wireless mouse, USB, occasional phone charging with USB, and power to the asus through USB C. There is lots of room to spare as well for even more functionality that I don’t currently utilize.

I usually use 2 displays and this is a boon for me

Very occasionally my mouse will have glitchy movement (once every couple days for about 30 seconds), but there are obviously other factors that could be larger contributors.

The dock is lightweight and I usually carry these between my home and office sometime, but I can definitely generally recommend this one due to its convenience and performance value.
    Thanks

I either misread the specifications or they were not clear enough, but either way I was disappointed that I could only run a single display from this device - your choice of DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA. It simply won’t support 2 displays simultaneously, so with it attached I still have to attach my second display to my laptop’s DVI port. Works fine, but less of a quick-disconnect “docking station” than I was hoping for. Otherwise it seems to be a high quality product and I like the design as it serves to raise the rear of the laptop for easier typing and better air circulation. My only other issue (and this seems to be true of all such USB-C dongles) is that the USB-C cable is just barely long enough to reach my USB-C port and hav the unit sit under the laptop as designed.

Got this as I wanted a docking station that would sit tidily underneath the13" MBP. I liked the reviews, price, and the single fairly thick connection cord between the station and the MBP. It worked fine for 5 weeks, but then lost the ability to charge the MBP. Also, connecting it to the MBP would hose up the MBP such that it would not charge directly off of an adapter. The only fix was to reset the System Management Controller. Did that drill a couple of times to confirm the problem was with the docking station.

Amazon ended up giving me a partial credit when I returned this. The partial credit was a courtesy as the return window had closed. Leads to my other comment: I will be rethinking purchase of non-name brand electronics from Amazon. If the vendor/mfr has hard-to-reach customer service, then you're hosed.

Amazon could certainly do a better job of monitoring and enforcing3rd party vendor warranty/service/return issues. Grrr

After moving from PC (where there was a docking station) to Mac, I was worried I'd have to individually plug everything in on my desk. This solves the trick. I specifically ordered the "USB C Hub, 12 in 1" which allows me to use the USB-C on this for charging, I use the ethernet cable, and HDMI for the monitor. Although the hub doesn't support multi-monitors, I simply plug the second monitor directly into a USB-C to HDMI adapter on my Mac. This does require me to use 2 USB-C plugs (and have to plug in both each time on the desk) but that is a minor inconvenience. I've used the USB 3.0 plugs to many devices, including camera, as well as a separate USB hub for other USB devices (such as iPhone, MicroUSB, and USB drives). The audio plug works, but you do need to use Mac to switch the audio devices in the OS - it's not necessarily automatic - so be prepared for that. So far really enjoying the convenience. I do with there was another USB-C on the hub, so you could use one for the external power, and another for something else, but this'll do for now.

Right now the main problem I am having is my Magic Mouse 2 keeps disconnecting / reconnecting, and I've tried many things, but someone has mentioned that USB hubs could be interfering. I don't have this issue with my Mac when I'm away from my desk as often... but it could also be other devices, still need to check on that.
